Story & heritage
The Andiamo was introduced by Matthieu Blazy in his Spring/Summer 2023 collection — one of the woven handbags, alongside the Kalimero, that defined his tenure as creative director. Italian for "let's go," the Andiamo is a structured top-handle tote built almost entirely from the house's Intrecciato weave, signalling Blazy's return to Bottega Veneta's leather-craft foundations.
Its signature is a metal knot — a gold-tone clasp shaped to echo the knotted leather of the braided strap — that fastens a discreet drawstring at the top. Quickly a bestseller, the Andiamo has become the anchor of the current Bottega Veneta bag line, offered across mini, small, medium and large scales and in leather, suede and raffia.
Materials & craft
The Andiamo is woven in Intrecciato from nappa calfskin, the leather strips threaded by hand at Bottega Veneta's Veneto ateliers. A short rolled top handle and a longer braided-leather shoulder strap thread through metal eyelets at the sides; the strap and the knot-shaped gold clasp are the bag's only hardware. The suede version applies the same weave to brushed nubuck, while the raffia editions blend woven straw with leather trim.
How to choose & style
The Small is the all-rounder — carried by the top handle for the office, dropped onto the braided strap for hands-free. Honey and caramel are the most heritage-leaning; burgundy and espresso read richer; the suede versions soften the whole look. The Mini is the evening read; the Large becomes a genuine work-and-travel bag. The knot clasp does the talking, so keep the rest understated.
