Story & heritage
Clarks describes the Wallabee as an iconic classic within Clarks Originals, recognised for its moccasin construction and structural silhouette. The brand's own Originals page frames the shoe as a counter-cultural classic, built around simplicity, authentic moccasin lines and signature crepe soles.
The Wallabee sits beside the Desert Boot as one of the Clarks names most associated with the brand globally. Its appeal is quiet rather than formal: a low, soft shoe that can read collegiate, reggae, hip-hop, prep or art-school depending on the wearer.
Materials & craft
This maple suede version is crafted from Stead's suede with a leather lining, leather sock, EVA midsole and natural crepe sole. The lace-up moccasin upper is kept deliberately clean, finished with the two Clarks Originals fobs that mark the line.
How to choose & style
Maple suede is the default if you want the Wallabee to look canonical. Wear it with washed denim, fatigue trousers, chinos or cropped tailored pants; the soft toe works best when the trouser hem is relaxed rather than razor sharp.
