David Morris began as an apprentice at fifteen in London's Hatton Garden, graduated as a goldsmith from the Central School of Arts and Crafts, and opened his first store in 1962; he and his design partner won the De Beers Diamonds International Awards in 1963 and 1964. His son Jeremy — trained partly in Place Vendôme — took the helm in 2003 as managing director and principal designer.
The house keeps one of the last working ateliers on Bond Street, above its boutique in a Grade II*-listed 1908 townhouse at 180 New Bond Street, with further boutiques in Harrods, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Hong Kong. Its pieces have appeared on red carpets from Oprah Winfrey to Kate Winslet, in the Bond films, and in the V&A's permanent collection.
