Story & heritage
Frédérique Constant’s Heart Beat is the brand’s founding visual code: the first Heart Beat timepiece was launched in 1994, using an aperture on the dial to reveal the mechanical balance wheel. The official Heart Beat collection page calls it an iconic signature, and the current Classics Heart Beat Automatic keeps that aperture at 12 o’clock.
This reference stays close to the original idea: a traditional 40mm dress-watch shape with a visible oscillating balance, classic guilloché dial work and the FC-310 automatic movement. It is the simplest way to read the brand’s accessible-luxury mission on the wrist.
Materials & craft
The official product page specifies a 40mm case, FC-310 Heart Beat automatic movement, guilloché-style dial decoration and a Heart Beat aperture at 12 o’clock. The point is not complication for its own sake, but a clear view of mechanical motion through a classically composed dial.
How to choose & style
Treat it like a formal everyday watch rather than a novelty open-heart. The white dial and Roman numerals sit cleanly with tailoring, knitwear and office shirting; the aperture adds just enough animation without making the watch feel sporty.
