Clandestine Eau de Toilette
A rarer eighties Laroche perfume remembered for its angular bottle and opulent floral-amber profile.
Story & heritage
Guy Laroche's fragrance chronology places Clandestine in 1986, after the global rise of Drakkar Noir and before Horizon. It is now more of a collector fragrance than a mainstream retail item, but remains documented across fragrance reference sites.
The packaging is the icon: a black carton with a sharp blue geometric slash and a faceted golden bottle that looks unmistakably mid-eighties.
Materials & craft
Basenotes and Fragrantica list a lush structure around plum, bergamot, pineapple, aldehydes and apricot; a heart of damask rose, tuberose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, carnation, heliotrope, honey and iris; and a base of patchouli, amber, vanilla, benzoin, cedarwood, civet and musk.
How to choose & style
Because current supply is mostly vintage, style Clandestine as a reference piece: evening black, gold jewelry, satin, and a small dose. It is more archive mood than everyday blind buy.
