Story & heritage
Guy Laroche introduced Fidji in 1966 as his first women's fragrance. The name and the house's own copy frame it as an island fantasy: “The woman is an island, Fidji is her perfume.”
Across perfume references it remains the brand's essential feminine classic, the fragrance that established Laroche's perfumery before the Drakkar line took over the men's side of the story.
Materials & craft
The official description centers the composition on a sensual floral bouquet with galbanum, iris, ylang-ylang, jasmine and rose, followed by a spicy heart and an ambered drydown resonating with sandalwood, musk and patchouli. Basenotes additionally records lemon, bergamot, hyacinth, carnation, orris, vetiver, oakmoss and ambergris in the classic pyramid.
How to choose & style
Fidji suits soft color and light structure: ivory shirting, a silk scarf, pale denim, or a summer dress. Keep jewelry warm and minimal so the green-floral, powdered character stays elegant rather than nostalgic.
