Based in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the brand sits deliberately outside the fashion cycle. "Officine Générale isn't in the fashion industry," Mahéo has said — his point of view shaped, perhaps, by a father who was an oyster farmer and a grandfather who was a tailor.
The label now has some 200 points of sale and 14 stores, including seven in Paris, one in London and four in the United States. Its flagship sits at 6 Rue du Dragon, just off Boulevard Saint-Germain.
