Story & heritage
The official Tyler McGillivary store places Rainbow Fossil Dress inside its TMG Icons edit, making it part of the label's own archive of collectible prints and shapes. The piece carries the Brooklyn brand's visual language: playful illustration, natural-world references, and a garment shape designed to be immediately readable.
McGillivary founded the label in 2018, and the brand's public biography ties her work to illustration, contemporary art, early animation, and cartoons. Our Rainbow Fossil Dress is made from crinkle rainbow gradient mesh overlayed over super soft fossil printed jersey. The dress is a maxi dress with stretchy fabric and spaghetti straps. This dress is made in collaboration with Ella Mae. Ella Mae is a sustainable fashion brand based in Los Angeles California. Her pieces are made with an emphasis on the mindfulness of making. She creates garments as an offering to the earth in an aim to foster a respectful connection to the planet. All fabric is sustainably sourced deadstock and all dyes are hand done at the Ella Mae studio using natural plant matter.
