Story & heritage
The Era is one of Vans’ classic skate silhouettes: close to the Authentic in outline, but with a padded collar that made the low-top more skate-minded. Vans’ current Skate Era keeps that history visible while updating the construction for board feel and durability.
Its color-blocked panels also give the shoe a more graphic personality than the plain Authentic, which is why the Era sits naturally between early deck shoe and purpose-built skate shoe.
Materials & craft
The official Skate Era page calls out skate-focused upgrades including reinforced materials, PopCush footbeds, and SickStick rubber. The pictured blue/red pair keeps the recognizable low profile and padded collar.
Canvas and suede panels create a firmer toe and heel feel than a single-canvas deck shoe, while the waffle outsole remains the visual and functional Vans signature.
