Story & heritage
Verdura says the Byzantine Pendant Brooch is inspired by the pair of brooches owned by Diana Vreeland and represents one of the house’s earliest and most influential designs.
Related Fulco and Byzantine pieces trace the source to Ravenna: in the early 1930s, Verdura visited the Church of San Vitale with Coco Chanel, where the mosaic of Empress Theodora inspired his Byzantine designs.

Let Byzantine Pendant Brooch be the focal point: its motif is specific enough to carry a simple black dress, cream knit, or tailored jacket without needing competing jewelry. For a quieter read, choose one related format and keep the rest of the metals close in tone.
