Story & heritage
Club Check is the other anchor: Aquascutum Active dates the recognisable Vicuna, Navy and Ecru check to 1976, while noting that check lining had already appeared inside trench coats earlier in the twentieth century. That makes Club Check more than decoration here — it is the visible shorthand for the house's rainwear heritage.
The Archival Harrington applies that check heritage to a short, casual jacket rather than a trench. It is still unmistakably Aquascutum: the umbrella yoke, Club Check lining and weatherproof AquaPlus fabric all keep the garment anchored to the rainwear archive.
Materials & craft
Aquascutum Active describes the jacket as AquaPlus with a water-repellent internal membrane; Jules B also lists 100% polyester, AquaPlus water-repellent fabric, Club Check poplin lining, umbrella yoke, stand collar with buttoned tab, two-way zip closure, buttoned side pockets, ribbed cuffs and hem, internal pocket and 100% cotton lining.
How to choose & style
This is the most casual entry point into Aquascutum's archive. Treat it like a Harrington first: cropped over denim, chinos or tailored trousers, with the Club Check either fully visible as a statement or mostly hidden under a navy outer side.
