1 Pleat 80/3 Twill
A sharper sibling to the wide chino, built around one pleat, a glossy high-density twill and a cleaner tapered line.
Story & heritage
BEAMS PLUS was launched in 1999 as BEAMS's menswear label for modern basic utility wear, rooted in American traditional, work, sports and military clothing from the mid-1940s to the mid-1960s.
The official BEAMS 100 page places 1 Pleat 80/3 Twill in the BEAMS PLUS core trouser canon alongside the 2 Pleats Twill and GYM Pants.
Materials & craft
BEAMS describes the trouser as based on 1950s and 1960s materials, with firm, resilient, slightly glossy fabric. The design uses a single pleat, double-welt hip pockets, a 9/10 length and a turn-up hem; product details list 100% cotton and Japanese manufacture.
How to choose & style
Use it when the 2 Pleats feels too relaxed. It keeps the BEAMS PLUS language but sharpens the line under a blazer, cardigan or camp-collar shirt.
