Story & heritage
Bode's Senior Cord program revives an early-20th-century collegiate practice of decorating corduroys with personal motifs. The official program offers jackets, trousers, dresses, tote tags, and pillows, each tied to the wearer's memories.
Vogue connected the project to Harry Styles' custom Bode cords in its December 2020 cover story, helping make the line one of the brand's clearest examples of clothing as autobiography.
Materials & craft
The jackets are made from corn-colored British corduroy with black or full-color hand-drawn illustrations. Bode says each piece is personally illustrated by artisans in its New York studio after a customer interview.
The official Side Tab Jacket is 100% cotton British corduroy, made in New York, and finished as a final-sale custom object.
How to choose & style
Because every jacket is already narrative-heavy, style it like a varsity heirloom: white shirt, plain tee, loafers, and trousers that let the drawings remain readable.
Choose the Side Tab shape for a cleaner workwear read and Front Tab when the illustrated paneling should feel more formal and jacket-like.
