Story & heritage
The Senior Cord trousers are the purest expression of Bode's custom program. Bode traces the technique to an early-20th-century collegiate tradition in which seniors illustrated corduroys with lettering and drawings.
Vogue notes that the original Purdue tradition began in 1904 and faded as jeans replaced corduroys, before Bode revived the idea as a contemporary personalization project.
Materials & craft
The trousers are made from corn-colored 100% cotton British corduroy and drawn in permanent ink. Bode offers full-color or black illustration, developed from customer references and interviews.
Side buckles and a plain corduroy base keep the silhouette classic so the drawings read like a scrapbook rather than print.
How to choose & style
Let Senior Cord trousers sit at the center of an outfit: navy blazer, oxford shirt, or knit polo on top; simple loafers or house shoes below.
Black-ink motifs feel more collegiate and restrained, while full color turns the trousers into a statement piece.
