Story & heritage
Vittorio is part of Bontoni's official ready-made shop edit, a wholecut oxford that shows the small Marche workshop's preference for hand-coloured leather and expressive classic shapes.
Vittorio De Sica, the well-known Italian filmmaker is the inspiration behind the ‘Vittorio’ lace-up. Crafted from a single (whole cut) piece of leather and adorned with hand-sewn reversed stitch details, the ‘Vittorio’ pays homage to De Sica’s savior-faire, creativity, and sophisticated style. ‘Vittorio’ is one of our most highly regarded oxfords.
Materials & craft
Official product details list Five-eyelet wholecut oxford with hand-sewn reverse stitch details, Entirely handmade on our contemporary almond toe, Hand-burnished cognac calf, Beveled waist, Hand-stitched Norwegian construction, Leather sole, Lasted shoe trees included. Bontoni's craft pages describe a hand-led workshop process: leather is cut, sewn, lasted, welted, and finished through hundreds of manual operations.
How to choose & style
Vittorio is the dressier lane of the Bontoni wardrobe. It works best with suits, tailored separates, and pressed trousers where the hand-coloured upper can read clearly.
Choose tonal belts and restrained socks; the shoe already has enough patina and hand-stitch detail to be the focal point.
