Story & heritage
Camper traces its shoemaking story to Mallorca, where Lorenzo Fluxà founded the brand in 1975 after generations of family cobbling. Camaleon is presented by Camper as the line inspired by its first shoe design and by rustic footwear worn by Mallorcan farmers more than a century ago.
The result is a casual footwear icon that keeps the brand's Mediterranean idea of simplicity, resourcefulness, and everyday grace in view.
Materials & craft
Current Camaleon editions are described by Camper with natural cotton, certified leather, recycled cotton linings, and recycled rubber outsoles. The official product page for this black sneaker lists a canvas build and a rubber outsole with recycled and natural rubber content.
Its craft language is deliberately low-tech: soft upper, simple shape, grippy sole, and a farmer-shoe reference translated into city footwear.
How to choose & style
Wear Camaleon like a relaxed canvas sneaker: cropped denim, cotton trousers, or a casual suit that benefits from a less polished shoe.
The line works best when its rustic profile is allowed to stay simple rather than over-styled.
