Story & heritage
Camper identifies Pelotas as one of its most recognizable icons. The official history page dates the launch to 1995 and says the line has sold more than 11 million pairs.
The name means "balls" in Spanish, a reference Camper connects to vintage hand-stitched sports balls and to the shoe's signature outsole geometry.
Materials & craft
The official Pelotas icon page highlights an 87-ball outsole, 360° stitching, and a premium European leather upper. The current U.S. product page lists full-grain leather with a rubber outsole.
Those rounded sole units are not decoration only; Camper describes them as a cushioning system that gives the line both its distinctive look and its comfort proposition.
How to choose & style
Pelotas is the Camper pair for people who want a casual shoe with more character than a plain trainer. Let the ball outsole show with straight-leg denim or cuffed chinos.
Black and brown versions read more polished; contrast-lace and brushed finishes lean into the shoe's playful history.
