Story & heritage
Chloé first introduced a scent — Chloé Classique — in 1973. The modern Chloé Eau de Parfum, the house's contemporary signature, relaunched the name as a luminous rose fragrance and became one of the most recognisable women's perfumes of its generation, anchoring an enduring family of flankers.
Chloé's fragrances are produced under licence; Coty acquired the perfume licence for the house in 2005. The signature Eau de Parfum's pleated-glass flacon, with its gold plaque and powder-pink ribbon, has become as recognisable as the scent itself.
Materials & craft
The Eau de Parfum is built around a fresh, powdery rose at its heart, lifted by a fruity lychee top note and grounded in a warm amber base — a luminous, modern floral rather than a heavy one. The flacon is a ribbed, faceted glass rectangle topped with a polished metal plaque engraved Chloé and finished with a nude grosgrain ribbon tied at the neck.
How to choose & style
The signature Chloé is a soft, rosy floral that suits day and evening alike — clean and luminous rather than sweet, so a light hand carries it well. The Eau de Parfum is the fullest expression; the line extends to lighter and intense flankers, and the pleated bottle is offered from rollerball to full size. The flacon has become an icon in its own right.
