Story & heritage
Dakine calls the Hot Laps Hip Pack 2L the quintessential two-liter bike hip pack and describes the updated version as genre-defining. It is the mountain-bike equivalent of the brand’s compact snow packs.
The design is iconic because it makes the short-ride carry visible: water bottles deploy from the sides, a phone sits in a fleece-lined pocket, and tools stay organized without a full backpack.
Materials & craft
Official specs list a 100% recycled polyester body and lining, breathable air-mesh back panel, padded hip belt, two deployable water-bottle pockets, internal organization, fleece-lined phone pocket, external carry straps and reflective zipper pulls.
How to choose & style
Use 2L for fast rides where a pack feels excessive. Go to 5L when extra layers or more water are needed; the stealth version disappears under a jersey.
