Story & heritage
Hublot’s 1980 founding watch combined a precious-metal case with a natural rubber strap, a formula Wikipedia identifies as the breakthrough that defined the brand from day one. The Classic Fusion Original is the modern, stripped-back way Hublot revisits that first porthole idea.
Official collection copy describes Classic Fusion as a reinterpretation of classic elegance with Hublot’s own touch. The “Original” references make that intent explicit by dialing back the visual noise and letting the round bezel, slim profile and rubber strap do the work.
Materials & craft
The representative 42 mm and 45 mm references use titanium or black ceramic cases on rubber straps, with cleaner dials and much less overt skeletonization than the Big Bang family. The result is still unmistakably Hublot, just calmer and more linear.
Because the line stretches from plain titanium to black ceramic and blue-dial executions, it gives a clear view of how Hublot modulates the same 1980 formula through finish rather than by changing the watch’s basic architecture.
How to choose & style
This is the easiest Hublot to integrate into tailoring or low-key daily wear. Titanium and blue-dial references are the sweet spot; black magic sharpens the line without making it feel as aggressive as a Big Bang.
