Story & heritage
The Bomber is one of Loro Piana's signature outerwear icons, born in 2003 out of a love for sailing. It blends versatility with a refined athletic silhouette, conceived as an easy companion for leisure and travel rather than a technical sports piece.
Where the Horsey carries the house's equestrian story, the Bomber carries its nautical one — part of a sporting heritage that also sees Loro Piana supply Team New Zealand for the America's Cup. It is the piece that proves the maison's instinct for luxury fabrics extends naturally into relaxed, active shapes.
Materials & craft
The Bomber is defined by an elastic cuff and a two-way zip closure, with functionality in every detail. Its sailing-inspired Windmate® fabric is fused with precious cashmere for warmth and wind resistance, and many versions are fully reversible to a contrasting tone. Microfibre Storm System® editions add water resistance. Made in Italy.
How to choose & style
The Bomber is the elevated weekend jacket — clean lines, no logos, and a fabric far richer than its sporty shape suggests. Navy and the reversible neutrals are the most flexible; the contrast interior lets it read two ways. It layers over knitwear and sits as easily with trousers as with denim, which is the point of a piece built for travel.
