Story & heritage
The Roadster sweater takes its name and spirit from the Roadster jacket — the ultimate driving jacket, created in 2004 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Villa d'Este Concorso di Eleganza, the storied concours dedicated to classic and historic cars. The knit translates that automotive heritage into cashmere: a layer designed for those who are always en route, at the wheel and beyond.
Sculpted with a high zipped neckline that complements the wardrobe of classic-car drivers, the Roadster has become one of the house's signature knitwear icons — recognisable for the two-tone motif that runs diagonally across the body.
Materials & craft
The Roadster is spun from 100% cashmere in ultra-soft yarns, made in Italy. It is defined by a ribbed mock-neck collar with a half-zip and a leather zip puller, ribbed cuffs and hem, a regular fit, and the signature diagonal stitch that creates the two-tone melange running across the garment. The high neck zips up to shield against wind at the wheel.
How to choose & style
The Roadster is the polished alternative to a crewneck — the half-zip and high collar give it a sportier, more deliberate line that works over a shirt or alone. The natural and stone melanges are the most versatile; deeper tones read sharper. Its driving-jacket lineage makes it a natural travel and weekend layer that still looks considered.
