Story & heritage
MOMOTARO JEANS was established in Kojima, Okayama in 2005 and built around Tokuno Blue, the house’s deep indigo signature. Its sashiko shirts carry the same craft-first attitude into a lighter, more versatile top layer.
Here the classic work-shirt shape gets a textural rewrite, so the surface does the storytelling while the silhouette stays easy to wear.
Materials & craft
The sashiko fabric is inspired by Amekasuri, with rain-like motifs embroidered into a raised surface. It is durable yet supple, over-dyed in indigo so it can develop a richer patina with wear, and the back uses double action pleats for movement.
A compact collar and relaxed body silhouette keep the piece balanced, and the shirt is made in Japan from 100% cotton.
How to choose & style
Wear it as a shirt or overshirt with jeans and boots, or layer it under a jacket when you want texture without bulk. It has enough presence to stand alone but still behaves like a staple.
