Story & heritage

The PanoMaticLunar sits at the heart of Glashütte Original’s Pano collection, whose official collection page describes the line as giving the manufactory an unmistakable, timeless face through asymmetric dial visuals. Its off-centre hours, small seconds, Panorama Date and moon phase make the watch instantly recognisable without needing a large logo.

The current stainless-steel reference is documented by Glashütte Original as a 40 mm automatic watch with a striking asymmetric design, a silver galvanic dial and an in-house moon disc. It is the accessible face of the brand’s modern Saxon dress-watch language.

Materials & craft

Official product details cite a 40 mm stainless-steel case, 5 bar water resistance and the automatic Calibre 90-02. The dial is described as crafted through around forty work steps, with applied indexes, blued hands, a two-disc Panorama Date and a moon phase whose moons are cut, polished and set against a galvanised starry sky.

Through the sapphire case back, the movement shows Glashütte signatures: three-quarter plate with stripe finish, blued screws, polished steel parts, bevelled edges, a skeletonised rotor and duplex swan-neck fine adjustment.

How to choose & style

Choose the PanoMaticLunar when the goal is a dress watch with visual tension rather than symmetry. Silver reads classic and bright; blue or green dials make the layout more contemporary. It pairs naturally with tailoring, fine knitwear and polished casual layers.
