Story & heritage

The SeaQ anchors the Spezialist collection. Glashütte Original says the collection is inspired by the first Glashütte diver’s watch, and Wempe traces the SeaQ design to the Spezimatic Type RP TS 200 from 1969, a watch exhibited in the German Watch Museum in Glashütte.

It brings the brand’s Saxon movement language into a robust sports-watch shape, with vintage numerals and a purposeful bezel.

Materials & craft

Official and retailer sources describe the 39.5 mm steel SeaQ as water-resistant to 20 bar, with a screw-down crown, luminous numerals and hands, and automatic manufacture Calibre 39-11. The current line offers strap, rubber and bracelet configurations, plus case-back choices on newer references.

The design keeps the historic diver proportions compact while using modern ceramic-bezel and sapphire-crystal expectations.

How to choose & style

The SeaQ is the casual anchor of the collection. Black is closest to the 1969 inspiration; blue and green dial versions read more contemporary. On rubber it is a weekend diver; on bracelet it becomes the brand’s everyday sports watch.
