Story & heritage
The Open Road Straw carries the same 1937 Open Road story into warm weather. Stetson presents it as the straw version of the iconic Open Road, with the familiar western-style crown and town-friendly brim.
The official copy says the straw model is handwoven one strand at a time in the U.S.A. and keeps the post-1948 cattleman-crease identity associated with the felt Open Road.
Materials & craft
The current Open Road Straw is made from 100% shantung straw with a firm finish. Stetson lists a 4-inch cattleman crown, 2 3/4-inch brim, grosgrain band, JBS brand pin, genuine sheepskin leather sweatband and signature hat box.
How to choose & style
Use it as the hot-weather answer to the felt Open Road. It keeps the same recognizable outline, but the lighter straw texture relaxes the hat with linen, chambray, western shirts and summer denim.
