Story & heritage
Lucky Alhambra has drawn on nature since 2006, using hearts, butterflies, leaves and stars in playful combinations. The butterfly pendant keeps Alhambra's lucky language but swaps the clover for a more literal fauna motif.
It remains recognizably Van Cleef & Arpels because the outline, chain scale, and polished gold edging sit inside the same decorative vocabulary as the classic Alhambra pieces.
Materials & craft
The official mother-of-pearl pendant is made in 18K yellow gold. Related variants use tiger eye and other ornamental stones, giving the butterfly warmer or brighter color while preserving the rounded gold frame.
How to choose & style
The butterfly is sweeter than the clover, so it works best when the rest of the outfit is simple. Mother-of-pearl keeps it luminous and soft; tiger eye or turquoise makes the motif feel more collectible.
