Story & heritage
Created in 1968, the Alhambra motif became Van Cleef & Arpels' best-known symbol of luck. The Vintage pendant keeps the original four-leaf clover language: a clean ornamental stone or precious surface framed by a delicate golden bead contour.
The pendant is the entry point into the Alhambra universe: instantly readable, small enough for daily wear, and close enough to the 1968 design to feel more like a house emblem than a seasonal jewel.
Materials & craft
The official yellow-gold reference pairs 18K yellow gold with mother-of-pearl. Its craft vocabulary is the Alhambra formula: softly rounded clover lobes, polished gold beads around the edge, and a fine chain that keeps the motif visually light.
How to choose & style
Choose mother-of-pearl for the cleanest everyday read; onyx or guilloché gold turns the same outline more graphic. It layers best with chains that sit either higher at the collarbone or much lower, leaving the clover alone at center.
