After the 2017 acquisition by Gildan, the official American Apparel assortment has focused on premium wholesale essentials rather than runway novelty. The official construction specifies 3-end lightweight fleece made with a portion of recycled polyester, a 100% combed ring-spun cotton face, drawcord-free unlined hood, dropped shoulder seam, dyed-to-match zipper with recycled zipper tape, on-seam side pockets, 1x1 rib with spandex, side-seamed body, and recycled tear-away label.
