Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding
AP's modern round-case pillar, built around a complex case profile and a name that evokes the moment before a new day.
Story & heritage
Revealed in 2019, Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet was created as a new pillar beside the Royal Oak and Offshore. It gives AP a modern round watch language, but refuses to be simple: the case combines a round bezel with a shaped middle and airy lugs.
The name points to transition — the minute before midnight — and the collection has become AP's broadest canvas for time-only watches, chronographs and high complications.
Materials & craft
The sourced stainless-steel selfwinding reference measures 41 mm across and 10.7 mm thick, with double glareproofed sapphire crystal and caseback and 30 metres water resistance. Its Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 dial is paired with white-gold hour markers, luminescent hands and a blue rubber-coated strap.
How to choose & style
Code 11.59 is the AP for someone who wants the brand's craft without the octagon. It wears cleanly with tailoring, knitwear and evening clothes; the steel-and-strap models feel modern, while gold and ceramic references lean more ceremonial.
