[RE]Master is Audemars Piguet's way of returning to its archive without making simple reissues. [RE]Master01 launched in 2020 as a 500-piece reinterpretation of a rare 1943 chronograph, created around the opening of the Musée Atelier in Le Brassus.

The pictured [RE]Master02 followed as a tribute to a Brutalist-inspired asymmetrical watch created by the manufacture in 1960, turning a little-known historical design into a contemporary limited edition.

Materials & craft

The official [RE]Master02 reference uses a 41 mm case in 18-carat sand gold, sapphire crystal and caseback, 30 metres water resistance and a blue contrasted alligator strap with sand-gold pin buckle. Its parted blue dial has a parallel brush effect and sand-gold hands.

How to choose & style

[RE]Master is for collectors who like historical oddities more than obvious icons. It pairs naturally with sharp tailoring, tonal knits and architecture-minded styling; the asymmetry gives a formal outfit one strange, memorable line.
