Story & heritage
The Drew was created by Clare Waight Keller and introduced for 2014, drawing on the rounded saddle bags of Chloé's 1970s heyday. Its rounded, half-moon body and offset gold plaque-and-chain closure gave the house a softer, more romantic everyday shape.
An early favourite of the bag's revival period, the Drew helped re-establish Chloé as a handbag house in the 2010s alongside the Faye, reinterpreting the saddle bag as a chain-strap crossbody for a new generation.
Materials & craft
The Drew is cut from grained or smooth calfskin in a rounded saddle silhouette, closed by a small rectangular gold-tone plaque threaded with a fine chain. A short leather top handle sits above the flap, and a longer chain-and-leather strap carries it on the shoulder or across the body. The construction is soft, giving the bag its characteristic gentle curve.
How to choose & style
The Drew is the quietly romantic Chloé bag — its rounded shape and small gold clasp are gentle rather than loud, so it reads soft in any neutral. Taupe and grey are the most versatile; the mini and crossbody scales are the most wearable. Worn close to the body on its chain, it carries the 1970s saddle-bag ease the house keeps returning to.
