Story & heritage

The Faye was created under Clare Waight Keller, Chloé's creative director from 2011 to 2017, and launched around 2015. It became one of the house's biggest bags of the decade, defined by a sculpted O-ring with a curb chain that drapes across the front and clips the flap shut.

Where the Paddington was slouchy and the Marcie folkloric, the Faye paired a clean leather body with a suede flap and a jewellery-like piece of hardware, giving the house a more graphic, hardware-led signature for the 2010s.

Materials & craft

The Faye combines a smooth calfskin body with a contrasting suede flap, embossed with the Chloé signature. The defining element is the gold-tone ring and the partly leather-threaded curb chain that loops from it, both functional closure and ornament. The strap mixes chain and leather so the bag can be worn long across the body or doubled on the shoulder.

How to choose & style

The Faye is the more hardware-forward Chloé — the ring and chain are the focal point, so the body is best kept in a quiet neutral. The mini and small crossbody are the most wearable; the shoulder bag and Faye Day soften the look. Black with gold is the graphic default; grey and nude shift it gentler. It sits comfortably between the house's bohemian and polished registers.
