Story & heritage
Founded in Paris in 1976 after Hervé Chapelier's Los Angeles bag-making beginnings, the house built its reputation on light, color-driven utility rather than heavy status hardware. Its canon is a vocabulary of cabas, boat totes, shoulder bags and travel bags that repeat the same practical geometry in different fabrics and sizes.
The official house description calls the two-tone nylon line Hervé Chapelier's ultimate iconic line: clean color blocking, a contemporary shape and seasonal palettes made for everyday use. The 1027N is the medium square-bottom tote in that vocabulary: practical, zipped and immediately recognizable through its two-tone body and trim.
Materials & craft
Official product data lists short polyamide handles, a zipper and an inside pocket. The European store lists the composition as 52% PVC and 48% polyamide, with 23 x 40 x 21 cm dimensions and 10 litres of capacity.
How to choose & style
This is the easiest entry point: medium size, zipped top, enough color to matter without shouting. Pair a neutral body with dark trim for work; use seasonal brights as the casual tote in a navy, grey or denim wardrobe.
