Story & heritage
The Soli basket is Jacquemus' interpretation of the Provençal market basket — the woven straw tote that has been part of the south of France for generations, lifted into the house's accessory line. It belongs to the same Le Raphia world as the woven Bambino: craft-forward, summery, unmistakably southern.
Where the brand's leather bags are crisp and architectural, the Soli is soft and relaxed — a bag for the beach, the market and the holiday, finished with the small luxury signals (gold hardware, croc-effect leather, a logo plaque) that mark it as Jacquemus rather than a plain straw basket.
Materials & craft
The Soli is handwoven from soft raffia/straw with a croc-effect leather front pocket and trim, gold-tone hardware and studs, and an elongated leather crossbody strap alongside short top handles. A front flap pocket carries the gold JACQUEMUS lettering. The construction is intentionally soft, so the basket relaxes and slouches as it fills.
How to choose & style
The Soli is a holiday workhorse — it swallows a beach or market haul and pairs with linen, swim cover-ups and easy summer dressing. The natural straw is the timeless base; the metallic croc trim gives it a contemporary edge over a plain basket. It is meant to be carried casually, slung on the shoulder or held by the top handles, slightly overfilled rather than precisely packed.
