Story & heritage
The Cleo was launched in late 2020 and quickly became one of the house's most sought-after handbags, drawing on Prada's hobo bags from the 1990s archive. Its arched, half-moon silhouette, sleek lines and polished finish embody Prada's minimalist vision — a deliberately quiet, sculptural counterpoint to the logo-forward nylon icons.
Crafted in fine brushed leather, an expression of the house's leather-goods expertise, the Cleo is defined by what it leaves out: there is almost no visible hardware, no external pockets, and a single discreet triangle plaque, so the form and the finish carry the whole design.
Materials & craft
The Cleo is constructed in brushed (spazzolato) calf leather with a smooth, lustrous surface that catches the light. The body is cut so the seams disappear, giving the bag its characteristic seamless, sculptural curve; a slim flat strap fixes to polished metal anchors, and the only ornament is the enamel triangle logo. The interior is leather-lined and stamped PRADA Made in Italy.
How to choose & style
The Cleo wants to sit close to the body, tucked under the arm where its crescent line reads cleanest. The small top-handle version is the purest expression; the larger Cleo with an adjustable strap turns it into a genuine day bag. Black brushed leather is the most versatile and the most photogenic; metallic and seasonal colours lean evening. Pair it with clean, minimal dressing — the Cleo is a bag that completes a look rather than competing with it.
