The Galleria is Prada's modern leather standard-bearer, introduced around 2007 and named for the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan — the very arcade where Mario Prada opened the original Fratelli Prada leather-goods shop in 1913. In carrying that name, the bag deliberately anchors itself to the house's founding address, framing a contemporary tote as a direct descendant of Prada's first window onto the city.

It has become the structured, daytime counterpart to the house's nylon icons: a bag built in Saffiano, Prada's signature treated leather defined by a diagonal cross-hatch texture pressed into the hide and sealed with a protective wax coating — a finish prized for its scratch- and water-resistance.

The Galleria's appeal is in its discipline: a structured, trapeze-leaning silhouette that holds its shape upright, with slim top handles and a removable, adjustable shoulder strap for hand, shoulder or crossbody wear. The cross-hatched Saffiano calf leather is finished with a wax seal for durability, the interior is cleanly compartmentalised, and the front carries the house's enamel triangle logo plaque — the single most recognisable Prada signature.
