Story & heritage
Alpha’s official CWU 45/P page describes the jacket as originally issued to USAF and Navy pilots and now a classic staple. Compared with the MA-1, it reads more technical: a fold-down collar, front closure with storm flaps and larger flap pockets.
Within Alpha’s archive language, the CWU 45/P is the heavier flight-jacket counterpoint to the nylon MA-1 — still a bomber, but with the visible hardware of a cold-weather uniform.
Materials & craft
Official specs list a 100% flight nylon shell, 100% nylon lining and 100% polyester fill. Product features include water resistance, onion-quilted lining, a fold-down collar, storm flaps, a sleeve utility pocket and knit rib cuffs and waistband.
How to choose & style
The CWU 45/P suits a more utilitarian outfit than the MA-1. Wear it with fatigues, cargos or straight jeans; the rounded collar and flap pockets give enough structure that simple layers underneath work best.
