Story & heritage

Alpha’s official M-65 page calls it the classic U.S. military field coat, manufactured to military specifications. The wiki extract also notes that Alpha produced the M65 Jacket for the U.S. military for over half a century.

The current Heritage model preserves the logic of the original field coat: oversized enough to layer over uniforms and full of functional pockets, drawcords and closure details.

Materials & craft

Official specs list a 50/50 nylon-cotton shell and 65/35 cotton-polyester lining. Features include water and wind resistance, a concealed hood, drawcords at hood, waist and hem, a signature wire field-coat zipper and compatibility with the ALS/92 liner.

How to choose & style

Wear the M-65 as a structured overshirt or light coat. Olive is the pure military read; black makes it city-clean; the oversized fit is best balanced with straight trousers rather than very slim denim.
