The Marine collection is rooted in Breguet's appointment as Watchmaker to the Royal Navy under Louis XVIII. The line recasts that heritage as contemporary sports watches that combine tradition with technical performance.
The Marine 5517 is the essential three-hand expression of the family: a 40 mm watch with central seconds and a date, designed to carry nautical references without abandoning Breguet's formal polish.
Materials & craft
On the Marine 5517, Breguet uses a wave-decorated crown, a seconds-hand counterweight shaped like a maritime signal flag with the Breguet initial, and an oscillating weight designed to recall a rudder. The titanium 5517TI/Y1/TZ0 has a blue hand-sunburst dial, faceted full-apple hands, 10 BAR water resistance and automatic calibre 777A with a 55-hour power reserve.
How to choose & style
Marine is the everyday Breguet for someone who still wants the maison's dial craft. The bracelet and rubber versions are the sportiest; alligator turns the same case back toward smart-casual tailoring.
