The company's origin is a tragedy turned to purpose: in 1995 the brothers' father was killed and Nick badly injured when their World War II-vintage Harvard crashed during a training flight. The crash led them to buy North Weald Flying Services, and from there to build their own watch company — all of its watches COSC or ISO chronometer-rated and built in the United Kingdom.
In 2021 Bremont opened "The Wing" outside Henley-on-Thames, a 35,000-square-foot facility that machines components and assembles timepieces, with capacity for up to 50,000 watches a year. The brand has long supported the armed services, making restricted special editions for those who flew the aircraft or served in the units they commemorate.
