Paseo Bag
Pleated nappa and knotted handles — Loewe's softest bag and its most sculptural all at once.
Story & heritage
The Paseo debuted in Loewe's Spring 2023 collection, introduced by Jonathan Anderson as a deliberate homage to the Flamenco — sharing its knotted tubular handles and gathered body while pushing further into sculptural territory. The name references the Spanish paseo, the evening promenade, and the bag has the ease of something worn without forethought.
The Paseo's pleated body in supple nappa leather occupies a space that few Loewe bags have claimed: genuinely soft, wear-anywhere versatility. It has since spawned a Paseo Chain variant with a circular gold-link handle and a Paseo XL for heavier carry days — each sharing the same front-pleated signature.
Materials & craft
The Paseo is made in supple nappa lambskin, chosen for its natural drape — without a rigid interior frame, the leather's weight creates the pleated front silhouette organically. The knotted tubular handles are formed from a single leather tube coiled and hand-knotted, echoing the same technique used on the Flamenco's drawstring pulls. The Paseo Chain uses a circular-link gold-tone chain in place of leather handles, with the same pleated nappa body.
How to choose & style
The Paseo Small works as a crossbody or top-handle; the XL becomes a generous work or travel bag. Ivory and ecru translate the softness of the leather into the quietest possible palette; deeper tones — chocolate, forest green — give it more visual weight. The Chain variant lifts toward evening; the knotted leather version is the more daytime read. Both forms drape beautifully when carried under the arm.
